4 Questions to Ask Yourself to Change Negative Patterns and Attitudes

Our attitude is a major driving force in our lives.  It can inspire us to do great things in life or it can be pull us down to our own demise.

The more negative patterns and attitudes that you have, the more difficult it is to tune in to your heart center, which is where you feel emotions like love and pain.  Your heart center is the path to higher wisdom and your spirit within.

Where does one feel love or pain? It always comes not from the physical heart but from a place in the center of our chest.

You see, the heart center is a major instrument within all of us.  It provides a path to higher wisdom and your spirit within.  Tuning into your heart gives you the ability to truly listen to others, to relate to others, to receive and give to others, to access knowledge, to inspire and be inspired, to learn discrimination, trusting right from wrong.

When we have negative patterns and attitudes we’re not working with our heart.   Instead, we are working only in the mind, and when we operate out of the mind we are more prone to being influenced by the lower nature, the part of us that has negative characteristics and magnified desires.

If you believe in reincarnation, some of the negative attitudes that affect your personality may spawn from past lives.  They may be engrained in your psyche, affecting your thought patterns, which in turn affect your personality. Trying to find the source of an attitude can help you in trying to change it.

Here are 4 exploratory questions you can ask yourself to begin changing negative patterns and attitudes.

Take the attitude you wanting to improve and ask your Higher Self the following questions:

  1. Is there anything I can do to have more awareness of when I am in this attitude?
  2. What undercurrents exist around this pattern?
  3. When I am in this pattern, how can I have the awareness to stop it?
  4. Is there anything else I should do to change it in addition to your original suggestion?

Many personality traits can be changed with the use of the heart.  Awareness helps you to stop the pattern and change the attitude. And always remember, change can happen.
